I have heard people say, in the aftermath of horrible natural disasters, how could a loving God make that happen?
The question is, who has authority over the earth?
Then, at the appointed time, the virgin was found with child, having been overshadowed by the Holy Spirit of God. Jesus was the Son of God.
Before Jesus started His 3 year ministry on the earth, he went into the desert and fasted for 40 days, praying. And the Devil came to tempt him.
Matthew 4:8-11
8 Next the devil took him to the peak of a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 “I will give it all to you,” he said, “if you will kneel down and worship me.”
10 “Get out of here, Satan,” Jesus told him. “For the Scriptures say,
‘You must worship the Lord your God
and serve only him.’[e]”
11 Then the devil went away, and angels came and took care of Jesus.
Notice that Jesus did not challenge the Devil’s claim to be able to give the “Kingdoms of the World”… because the devil had the authority that he took from Adam.
