Part 1: In The Beginning:
There was a point in time, sometime in eternity, when the angel Lucifer, who was the Leader of Worship in Heaven, because of his pride, and along with one third of the Angels, rebelled against God, and was expelled from Heaven. He was cast to the earth. Lucifer became Satan, and has been raging against God and Mankind (God’s precious creation) ever since.
In Genesis it describes how God created the Heavens and the Earth. It says the Spirit of God hovered over the surface of the waters. He spoke creation into existence. And He created Man.
He declared that each facet of creation was good. The only thing that was not good was that man was alone. SO He created Woman so Man would not be alone. God commanded them to have dominion over all the earth, and to multiply and fill the earth. The Bible says that when a man and woman come together, the two become “one flesh”… and this is the pattern for marriage.
Genesis 2:23,24
24 This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.
25 Now the man and his wife were both naked, but they felt no shame.
This is a Detour – I have a theory why the man and woman felt no shame about their nakedness.
When Moses came down Mount Sinai carrying the two stone tablets (the Ten Commandments) inscribed with the terms of the covenant, he wasn’t aware that his face had become radiant because he had spoken to the Lord.Exodus 34:29
When Moses finished speaking with them, he covered his face with a veil.Exodus 34:33
We are not like Moses, who put a veil over his face so the people of Israel would not see the glory, even though it was destined to fade away.2 Corinthians 3:13
Moses had been in the presence of God, and he was radiant – shining like a light bulb. The radiance was not permanent, it was fading. Still, he had to put a veil over his head, because he had been in the presence of God, and he was so bright people could not look at him.
I believe Adam and Eve were also radiant. God had formed them, and breathed life into them, and I believe their radiance was permanent.
Adam and Eve had eternal life, which was God’s plan for mankind. He told them they could eat from any tree in the garden except the one. If they ate from that tree, they would surely die.
Satan entered the serpent, and tempted Eve, and she ate from the forbidden fruit, and gave some to Adam, and he ate also.
The Bible says God is Spirit. He created Adam and Eve in his own image, He created them “body, soul, and spirit”.
When they ate of the forbidden fruit, I believe they died spiritually immediately. And the Radiance left them.
If you look at a light bulb, you can see the wire filaments inside of it. But if you turn the lights on, the bulb is too bright, you cannot see the filaments.
I believe Adam and Eve were naked, but so bright from radiance that you could not see the details of their bodies… they were clothed in light.
But when they sinned, they spiritually died, and the radiance left them, and they could see their own nakedness… and so they hid from God.
They no longer had eternal life, and eventually their bodies died also.
The Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is that God was restoring eternal life into all those who would receive Jesus as their Savior.
